Oh, Hi There!
Welcome to Capsule of Sunshine! I’m Stephanie, a Florida native, mom of two, and the person behind everything you see around here. I live in Palm Beach County with my husband and our two kids, Lucas and Emma. My husband and I have been married since 2018, and somewhere along the way I went from Registered Nurse to Stay-at-Home Mom to Nap-Time Blogger to now having this be my full-time gig!
Capsule of Sunshine is a motherhood and lifestyle blog where I share the things that make everyday family life a little easier (and a little prettier, too). Think practical motherhood tips, pregnancy and postpartum resources, baby and toddler must-haves, simple routines, home ideas, family-friendly recipes, and smart shopping guides to help you figure out what’s actually worth buying.
How Capsule of Sunshine Started
This whole thing actually started on Instagram back in 2019. I was working as a nurse at the time and started sharing online as a creative outlet – mostly fashion, beauty, healthy eating, and little pieces of everyday life. I loved having somewhere to be creative and connect with people outside of work.
Then I became a mom, and naturally, the things I wanted to talk about changed right along with my life.
After Lucas was born, I found myself wanting a space that felt a little more permanent than social media. Somewhere I could actually go into detail, share what was working for us, and create helpful resources that wouldn’t disappear into the Instagram abyss after 48 hours. 😂
So in 2022, Capsule of Sunshine became my own little corner of the internet.
A lot has changed since then. We’ve added Emma to the mix, I’ve officially entered the chaos of life with two little kids, and this blog has grown right along with us. I’m definitely not the first-time mom who started this site anymore. And honestly, I think Capsule of Sunshine is better for it.
What You’ll Find Around Here
A lot of what I share comes from the exact same things I find myself Googling, researching, buying, returning, organizing, cooking, or trying to figure out in my own life.
If you’re expecting a baby, you’ll find plenty of pregnancy and postpartum resources, including my ultimate baby registry checklist and lots of talk about the baby products we actually used, what I’d buy again, and what you can probably skip.
Once you’re in the thick of baby and toddler life, there’s plenty of that too — baby and toddler essentials, feeding and meal ideas, activities, travel tips, product recommendations, and all the random little things you don’t realize you’re going to need until you’re already Googling them at 11 p.m.
Beyond motherhood, I share a lot about making everyday life at home work a little better. That might mean simplifying a routine, figuring out what to feed everyone, organizing a space that’s driving me crazy, finding an easier way to do something, or making our home feel more like us.
And I will forever love a good find. You’ll see plenty of smart shopping guides, seasonal finds, gift ideas, everyday style and beauty favorites, and product recommendations — but my goal isn’t to convince you that you need more stuff. I’d much rather help you figure out what’s actually useful, what’s worth spending money on, and what you can happily leave behind.
Why I Share It
Because I know the feeling of having 47 tabs open trying to answer what should have been one very simple question. 😂
What do I actually need on my baby registry? Is this thing worth the money? What am I supposed to feed my toddler for lunch again? How do I make this room function better without completely redoing it?
Those are the kinds of questions I want Capsule of Sunshine to help answer.
I’m not here because I have motherhood, my house, or life in general perfectly figured out. Far from it, actually. 😂 I share what’s worked for us, what hasn’t, what I’ve learned along the way, and the things I genuinely think are worth passing along.
So whether you found me while preparing for a new baby, searching for a toddler meal idea, trying to make your home work better for your family, or researching something before you spend money on it — I’m really glad you ended up here.
I’m so glad you’re here. Grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile, there’s plenty to explore.
